An Invitation

I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to drop a quick line to let you know that my ten year project, ILLEGITIMATE, has been successfully completed and is ready to launch. I call it my book baby and this process feels much like giving birth. I’ve never worked harder at anything else, not even when I started SmartWatch. If you are interested in some of the details, stop by the launch party on March 11th, between 5:00 and 8:00. I will be in the courtyard between Pisces Rising, Back Porch Pizza Bar, and Maggie’s Attic, 237 W 4th Ave,  Mount Dora, FL 32757. Thank you to those businesses for supporting me. The venue is outside, so check the weather before you go.

Come by, join me for a drink, and help me honor this release into the world. I’ll be signing books. Then feel free to choose your favorite Mount Dora restaurant for dinner.

ILLEGITIMATE, A Daughter’s Search for Truth in the Shadow of Lebensborn has an official publication date of March 10th. We are having the celebration on Wednesday, the 11th. For those who can’t stop by the launch party, the book will be available on all online platforms, and local bookstores can order from Ingram.

About Maddie Lock

Born in Germany and adopted by an American Army officer, Maddie Lock fell in love with words as she learned the English language. When her stepfather retired, the family settled in Florida, where Maddie graduated from the University of South Florida with a BA in English Lit. After a brief freelance journalism career, Maddie side-tracked into the business world, eventually founding and building a successful security integration firm. After selling her company, it was time to return to her first passion of writing. Her combined love for dogs and children prompted two early readers: the award-winning Ethel the Backyard Dog, and Sammy the Lucky Dog. Focus soon shifted to creative nonfiction. Her essays have been published in various journals and anthologies, and she has recently completed a memoir.
